User Info: Veliconis. User Info: NinoSuave. Veliconis posted I'll probably try this build, but I'll likely replace Mantra of Evasion with Mantra of Healing with the resistance Rune. Depending on how that goes, I might try Mantra of Evasion. I was doing this myself but you will not believe how much more helpful that extra dodge and armor is. So the increase isnt that great unless you already have high res as it is. That and the life regen is minimal and not very noticeable when fighting stronger mobs.

The dodge and reduced damage is VERY noticeable. Heres a video too showing how certain stats you might find useless are actually very beneficial. User Info: ChocoboMog I chose physical resist. With One with Everything it is basically all res and much easier to raise and cheaper than buying all res gear.

I didn't realize Monks had this. This is not optimal. Thorns are not really needed. Yeah, you'll damage those that hit you, but between Sweeping Wind and your third hit, you'll already be doing much more to those in front of you.

Other resistances are entirely useless. They will provide no benefit whatsoever, unless it goes higher than your chosen. In which case, why are you diluting your equipment choices to that extent?

You might as well focus exclusively on Resist All, then. First up, this build will not let you stand there and take Arcane Sentries and Desecrators without moving. I don't think there's any build that will let you do that. So, get used to moving. Not to kite, but to pull away from damage spots, arcane sentries, that sort of thing.

Move is your watchword. Moving is life. You can stand and take it from enemies that have Reflect Damage, Fast, Vampiric, anything that doesn't drop a damage spot. Even Molten is fine, as long as they don't move. Just remember, they explode when you kill them.

Dashing Strike dashes you to the other side of the enemy that you are on. It can also dash you out of a tight spot. Use this to avoid boss attacks. Butcher winds up his big swing? Dash behind him, and keep going.

This takes split-second timing, however, as I've found some enemies will wind up, and if you dash before they begin the attack animation, they'll turn to hit you. You may have better luck dashing away from your enemies.

The dodge bonus from the rune only functions when you hit something. It will not work just dashing from one point to another. Also keep in mind that damage spots tend to interrupt the dash, so don't take it as a get out of jail free card. When fighting bosses, champions, anything with over , health, turn on Sweeping Wind. You'll regain your Spirit, and be doing extra damage. If you need to run away, use Lashing Tail Kick on an enemy to keep it from falling off.

Don't worry about your life dropping; it's going to happen. It's when you're standing in a plague patch, or other damage area that you need to worry.

Remember our watchword? Why are you trying to imitate a Barbarian? Monks are about speed, grace, and balance. Flow around the battlefield. This is because the faster you attack, the faster you generate spirit.

With an excess of spirit you will always have enough spirit to use your crucial skills when needed and be able to spam mantra of healing. That is pretty much all the tips I have. The only other tip I have is that in regards to groups, I find that grouping with a barb is very beneficial. Ask him to use his resistance shout. When stacked with your mantra your resistances will get to absurd amount 2k to all resistances is doable.

Since both of you will have low dps, ask him to go earthquake and beserker too if has decent gear. With this combo you can pull whole zones and he can earthquake them down. If you have any questions or would like to add to this guide please feel free to post. Guide Additions Part 4-Farming Since many of the posts claim that money seems to be an issue, I have decided to add a monk farming section to help. I will show you that it is possible to make 4 mil a day minimum.

The first run is for people that are struggling getting into Act 2. There should be packs roaming outside the waypoint, if not locate the two caves. There is one pack per cave. Get 2 Stacks. You should get at least one stack in here while finding the exit.

Free the prisoners and kill the warden. Note: Doing this run will help you find some upgrades needed for Act 2. However, what you will find is a lot of it is garbage. You will however find resist to all elements gear which is your money maker. Many resist to all gear in Act 1 will sell for k minimum.

The next run what I currently do to farm my gold. I average about 4 mil a day doing this run. However once gear comes this run can be done in about 30 min. Clear all the mobs to seigebreaker.
